Unable to access Vera via my laptop but works from my phone?

I’m trying to log into my home remotely via findvera.com. It works OK with the SmartPhone interface.
But on my laptop I get:

Any ideas what I can do here? The phone interface is OK but not easy to do any real work on the setup.

Did you load something recently like a plugin? Can you get to your Vera to try and power cycle it?
Whenever I used to get this type of error, it was normally bad news and in most cases I would wipe it and reload a backup.

I haven’t changed anything.
What is curious is that I can still login via the smartphone interface.
I’m not at the house this week but will be there on the weekend so I can check stuff out locally (and a lot faster).

I had to restore the factory defaults (press the black button on the back twice quickly) then login, restore the back up. Not very pretty but at least it appears that most of the settings are back to the way they were. :stuck_out_tongue:

The backup apparently does not restore the WAN settings (I had customized the SSID and password).

I connected to vera using the wired LAN to get it all reconfigured and back up and running.

Glad to hear you got it up and running again, thanks for sharing your fix.

Unfortuntely the problem has reappeared again after less than a week of reloading the backup. This is not a reliable solution. I’m not sure what the interaction is - perhaps the smartphone interface? I have a very simple setup with only the schalge lever lock, 1 wall switch and vera with the smartphone interface.

I’m on UI3 which I understand isn’t that “good”.
Should I switch to UI4?

Okay… so via smartphone things work, via your laptop, no good… this may sound dumb but have you tried someone elses computer? (I know I have had strange problems with sites and both my desktop and laptop would not work (because they were both mine, I had the same software and plug-ins on them which caused both to show same symptoms))… Try your neighbors, or one at work or whatever… but make sure its not one you have set up. If it works… well then its something on your laptop.

Example:
I could not get the gui on UI3 to work for the life of me on both my computers. The flash did not get along with them. When I tried someone elses computer things were fine. In that case I just gave up and downgraded to UI2 and have been happy ever since.

Good luck!

I’ve tried different computers, different browsers (IE8/firefox) even different OSes (linux from work which doesn’t seem to work at all). So doesn’t appear to be a cache problem. When I reload vera from backup then it all works just fine again. Somehow to JSON file is getting lost???

The smartphone interface is great for checking in on things but cannot configure stuff so it’s not all that useful in this case.
