After installing the UI7 Release Candidate my connections to vera via Veramate have been flawless. While on UI6 I consistantly had connection issues and had to reset the cache to get Veramate to reconnect. So far so good with UI7.
The UI7 Release Candidate can be found here:

I had no issues updating my firmware other than Nest App and Garage Door Plugin. That’s not to say there won’t be other apps that don’t function but I am sure it won’t take long for all those developers to update their apps. Happy Automating!
That’s great to hear, Aaron! I haven’t actually tried out the UI7 firmware yet, but (apparently) it should be same MMS authentication as UI6. I will say though… the 24 hour automatic session refresh should still have a problem
But based on history, Apple should be coming out with the 7.2 update any moment now.
You are lucky … You upgraded to ui7 after MCV upgraded the servers. If you did this earlier … The remote connections would not work.
If you migrated from Ui5 to ui7 after the server updated it will not work without the intermediate ui6 step.
I’ll add that although VeraMate’s official point of view at this time has to be that UI6 and UI7 (as a release candidate) have not been proven as stable yet, all versions will be supported. Any breaking changes that may occur will be fixed as soon as possible.
Hi,
I just updated my Vera to UI7, but after that I am unable to access it using VeraMate iOS app.
On the login window, there is a spinner and that’s it.
The spinner will be VeraMate just attempting to scan the local network if any Vera’s are there (for guest login). There aren’t any problems I’m aware of with UI7 at the moment. Do you have any more information? Ie after you enter your username/login. 90% of the support emails I get have been the password hasn’t been the same (or has changed with UI6/7).
7.3 has come out today as well, which has a bit more robust networking code for UI6/7 if you’d like to try that as well.
