UI5 says I'm screwed but everything is actually working

I’m confused by the error messages I see in the UI.

I have a device I just installed, a Leviton VRCS2-MRZ. I brought the Vera device upstairs to (pair? bind? what’s the right word) and that was just fine.

Now, I look at the web-based UI, and for both scene controllers and lights, I see the red circle in the upper left corner of their little control boxes, and a red error message underneath saying “Device failed to configure.” So I click on the wrench and then Settings and then Configure node right now. Seems reasonable, since it’s telling me it’s not configured. Then it says it’s getting the name. After a few seconds, the circle goes red again, and now the error bar says “Unable to get any information on node.”

But here’s the thing: everything is working fine. I can control the lights and respond to triggers from the scene controllers. Yet in the UI, it’s red fruit salad as far as the eye can see.

Can someone explain to me what’s going on here? Is this just bad UI software, or do I have a problem somewhere at some much lower communications layer? (Feel free to answer in engineering-speak…I am a long-time software guy with an EE background.)

strange. i had this too on few child-devices and i just put a 1 in the device variable for configured, it works
