I upgraded my vera maybe a couple of days ago. After that I was able to login in on getvera.com but when clicking on connect I got an error message. Frankly, I am not sure if the error was exactly the same but it sounds familiar. What eventually helped is disconnecting the vera from power, wait about 10 seconds and then reconnect power again. After that I had to close the Internet Explorer and restart it (just resetting the device or just shutting down IE did not help, I had to do both). Doing this I was suddenly able to log in again.
If your problem is indeed due to an incomplete upgrade then the above probably won’t help but you might want to give it a try. Btw, when you upgrade it tells you that if the site does not renew within 15 minutes you should reset the device (or something similar). In many cases the site never refreshes but the update actually happened.
