Twine

Anybody see this?

I’m intrigued. There has to be a way to integrate this into Vera somehow.

That’s cool…

Looks very cool… Ha, the company is based in MA. I’ll call them in the morning & get more info… To tie this into Vera? Not sure if that is possible, since it uses WiFi & not Zwave, but we’ll see…

In addition to WiFi, there is also a breakout board that I imagine could be used to communicate with Vera via RS-232, and I seem to recall them saying that it’s possible to do http calls as well.

I’m intrigued by the possibilities of using Twine’s sensors as triggers for events. Conversely, there may be aspects to using Twine as a bridge to report on Vera’s actions (using it as a primary means or backup means to provide remote notifications for example.)

Of course, I don’t possess the skills to know how hard all this might be…

Of course its possible, there are tons of other plugins that use different comms standards over IP already!

I’ve been watching their blog and the preorders are shipping now. They are ramping up slowly; trying to do it right.

The web client is a lot like IFTTT, and I think Vera, Twine, and IFTTT could be very complementary.
