Turn off Z-Wave on Vera1

Now that I am up and running with my new Vera2, I decided to use my Vera1 as a wifi access point only. Anyway to shutoff the Z-wave function on Vera1?

Thanks

Will it run with the dongle unplugged?

Flash it with Asus firmware or an OpenWRT without Vera?

There was a thread on this posted not that long ago.

Not sure if it will run, but Square Connect sees it and tries to connect to it.

Was hoping to avoid that, thought there might just be a setting somewhere that you can turn it on or off.

Checked before posting but could not find anything.

I think you’ll have to flash it with something else. However I don’t think this will prevent SQ remote from trying to configure it as I believe they may be looking up your Vera details from cp.mios.com or its a ghost left over form the migration (cant be sure about that but even if I delete it, it will reappear in SQ remote even with my V1 off).

I’m currently running my old V1 as bridge also (to my Garage) and have just left the Aeon dongle out; it runs fine! You may as well leave the Vera firmware there as I’m sure it’ll come in handy for other things where you might need to run something remotely like a Serial port etc. I also believe that the most recent firmware allows to split the Zwave network between a couple of Vera’s and signal via ethernet to reduce latency in large Zwave networks.

I’m actually thinking about putting an appliance module on my V2’s wall wart and then including it with the V1’s Zwave dongle so that I can remotely kill my V2 when she goes down…

I don’t think SQ Remote is talking to the Z-wave chip. It might be talking to your V1, but you can delete the V1 Mios from SQ.

I can’t find it now either but there was a user that was using X10 only and had the dongle unplugged. He asked about turning it off and got a response on how to do it. I just can’t remember where I saw it. Maybe this will jog someone else’s memory.
