Trying to test an Aeon HEM Gen 1

Before going through the process of installing the Aeon in my Breaker Box, I wanted to test and verify everything was working. I setup the device and it is recognized on my VeraEdge, and I tried clamping the cables on a couple of Extension Cords connected to my home theater; however, I am not getting any power readings. How would I go about troubleshooting?

Hi

You can’t put clamp on extension cord. You need to attach clamp only on black hot wire. ;D When you attach clamp to extension cord you have the hot, neutral, and ground wire in clamp.

Thanks for that input, I completely forgot about the additional phase and that it could not measure the single phase through the extension cord. Guess I will need to pull the electrical panel for my testing.

BTW does anyone know how long the device will run on batteries alone? The way my panel is setup, I will be hard pressed to try and hardwire the device to the panel and there are no outlets near by.
