Trying to manually create device in mios

I am running U14 and trying to manually create a device. I go to MIOS developers → Create device tab
I fill in the UpnpDevFilename and a Description and select Create device button. It never does anything. I am never able to save and it never shows up as a device. Are there certain browser compatability problems? I have tried with IE8 and Firefox 3.6

Any thoughts?

I was trying to just do the sample google weather project. I was using D_Weather.xml

When I try to create the device using Mozilla Firefox, it appears that nothing happens when I select the Create Device button. However, I tried this using Internet Explorer and it actually gives an error that

Sorry of this seems like an obvious question, but did you upload the files first before trying to create?

If you did this already, then another mistake can be when you extract or manage the files by perhaps inserting a space in the file name, or something wrong with the file extension etc.
Check that all the relevant files are there in the file list, and that the naming convention is followed exactly… this includes case!

Whenever you upload files, then you have to also be sure that the MiOS engine has been restarted (easiest to check the restart LUUP checkbox when uploading)

Also don’t use IE!

cpanel_data.js seems to be part of UI3, not UI4:

./www/cmh/js/ui3/cpanel_data.js ./rom/www/cmh/js/ui3/cpanel_data.js

I’m not sure what to conclude from this.

When I uploaded the files I was sure not to use IE as I had read many problems with this. I use Firefox for everything. I only tried IE because Firefox was not giving me any response when I pressed the Create Device button.

When I look in Luup files tab I can see the files that were uploaded for the Google weather project. So, I believe they are upgraded and spelled correctly.

It seems to me like the Create device button is simply not doing anything. It’s not like it fails creating the device.

Any other thoughts?
