Trying First Device - Not Pairing

I am trying to pair an Aeon Labs Home Energy Monitor. It’s plugged in, within 3 ft., red LED blinking. I press the + button on my Vera Lite & the yellow light is blinking. Then I press the button on the HEM & wait. Nothing happens. No fast flashing of the yellow light, no steady light on the HEM, nothing on the dashboard.

Any advice?

Did you buy the Aeon labs new or used?

If used, most likley it is still joined to another zwave network. The instructions for the device should have a section on how to unjoin it from a zwave network. Even a new unit, unless it was sealed, may have been a return that was already joined once. Try and unjoin it and then try to join it to Vera…

I had to plug the Aeon HEM via USB in and update the firmware (even the same version) once it’s paired initially.

No other way to exclude it to my knowledge

Thanks guys, I don’t know if I read bat instructions or was just doing it wrong. I was holding teh button on the HEM down for 5 sec. trying to pair when I should have just been pushing & letting go. Looking good now.
