Trouble Setting up Vera Lite

I’m new to all of this and I’m having trouble setting up my new VeraLite box. When I hook it up, the blue light eventually goes solid, but then the network light just blinks. It never does the double blink that the directions say will happen if there is a network connection issue. I let it go all day today just in case it was a time issue. So far, I’ve tried: Different network cables Different router Direct connect to the cable modem Direct connect to a computer (tried 2 computers…one running Vista and another running Win7) Pressing the reset button Inspected the network jack for bent/missing pins.

I can’t get to the web interface using 192.168.81.1 as the address in any case. Another weird thing is that when trying the direct connect to the computer, it would sometimes get to the network light blinking, but it would only blink twice and then all lights would go out.

So, any recommendations?

If this is hooked up to your network, you will need to find the ip address that your router assigned to the vera lite unit. The 192.168.81.1 address is if you have a direct connection to the vera unit via your pc and that your pc network info is changed to be on the same network. Did you go to the web address that is mentioned in the instructions to setup the vera unit? It should be something like mios.com/xxxxx

I’ve gone into the router control panel and the Vera Lite isn’t listed on the connected devices list. I did go to the website just in case and it can’t find the box either. Maybe I just have a bad unit?

I think I’ve got it working. It seems that the network jack is extremely finicky and I had to hold the cable in place.

Try a different cable. Could be a faulty cable.
