trouble adding ST814 Everspring Temperature/Humidity Detector

Hi all.

I have had a lot of trouble adding my ST814 Everspring Temperature/Humidity Detector. I have been through the process of pressing C/F three times, but no new devices appear in VERA MiOS (v 1.5.622).

I’m sure I’m doing something stupid. I suspect I once managed to add it… but on seeing a generic unknown device deleted that before managing to setup the daughter separate sensors.

I think my question is… if I have added and then (stupidly) deleted the generic device, how do I re-add it?

Hi Don,

Thanks so much for getting back to me. I spotted that post, and followed the suggestions.

For further clarification:

  • ST814 and VERA are about 6 inches from each other
  • I put the VERA in include mode, by pressing ‘+’, and the ready light blinks slowly
  • I press C/F on the ST814 3 times, and the [L] symbol flashes
  • the lights on the VERA do not change… suggesting that it is not seeing the ST814

I have also tried to exclude the ST814 (by repeating the above, but pressing ‘-’ instead), but VERA doesn’t respond to that either

Try resetting the sensor. From memory, you push the C/F button 2 (or 3?) and then hold for 1.5 seconds, you will hear a long beep, hold until the beep is over. Then try to add the sensor again.

Hi both,

Thanks again for your help. Interestingly, I bought 2 other sensors over the weekend (a Aeon 4in1 Multisensor and another Everspring ST814… for different rooms in the house) and both added fine to the VERA. It took a couple of attempts and a while before the ‘daughter’ nodes showed up and the readings started to come through, but all went pretty smoothly.

I’m going to try again to reset the troublesome sensor, and might leave the batteries out for a few days…

Wrong Z-Wave frequency for the ST814 perhaps?
