Triggers not working with Vera3 and Leviton VRCS (2 and 4 buttonScene controller

I was forced to changed my working Vera2 unit (firmware 1.1.1362) with a brand new Vera3 (firmware 1.5.408)… Long story short, I started my configuration from scratch; have added all my Zwave devices, setup scenes, tried some schedules and everything seems to be working correctly; but I am having the hardest of times making my Leviton Scene controllers work properly; they will not trigger a Scene associated to each button when I press a button.

I followed the same procedure as on my previous Vera2, and I also found this post: http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,10914.msg77344.html#msg77344 from oTI@; coincidentally it is the same procedure I am using. The problem; when I press the button on my Scene controller, it will not run the Scene that turns the dimmers ON. Even more strange, if I run the scene from the web interface (or from my mobile device); the Leviton switch recognized that right association and the correct LED on the Scene controller turns ON; at that point I can press the button on the Scene controller and the dimmers will turn off

This behavior is only happening with dimmers (either plugin lamp modules or wall switches); if instead of a dimmer I use a ON/OFF switch; then everything works.

On my previous Vera2, everything was working, so I know the switches are capable of such operation (and I am using all Leviton devices), but with new Vera3 I cannot the Scene controllers to properly activate a Scene when a button is pressed. Any help will be appreciated

Seems like someone else also had that same problem I am having, but no solution was posted.

Hopefully Someone in the forum has more information about this very strange behavior.

I posted a similar answer in another thread, but also answering here for completeness to anyone reading this down the road.

This might be covered by bug 2480.

There is an issue with programming Leviton controllers when the scene uses scene-capable dimmers.

Another thread here on this topic.

You could also do what I described here as a temporary workaround.

The problem is the hardware, it doesn’t support anything except Z-Wave. Below is the scoop from smarthome’s site.

This product has been discontinued. The replacement product is the VERA-3

Vera 2 is a simple solution for convenient home control, security, safety and energy savings. Built into a wireless WiFi access point, the system works to control lighting, appliances, thermostats and anything else that utilizes Z-Wave, as well as wireless or wired network cameras. Vera is also an energy conservation system that constantly tracks how much energy you are using. As lights are turned on or as appliances are used, Vera creates logs and calculates how much energy is being consumed. Vera can even contact you if you’ve left something turned on at home, like lights or the TV, and it allows you to turn them off with your internet connected mobile phone or from any web browser.

Features:
Easy to set up
Secure access from anywhere in the world
Compatible with all Z-Wave devices

@mo42556,
I’m not sure what you are implying? This post is discussing a Z-Wave wall controller, Vera3, and a Z-Wave dimmer switch. These are designed to work together.

The Vera 3 has no support for X-10 or Insteon, Only Z-Wave. Below is from smarthomes website…

[Repeat post redacted]

Stop posting this in every reply. That answer from Smarthome’s website is simply not true. Basic Insteon is supported out of the box*, and for better control, install Alsteon. The forum is here.

However, that has NOTHING to do with this thread. Why are you posting it here?

The original posted had a Vera2, Leviton controllers, and (presumably Z-Wave) dimmers and switches. This is not Insteon related.

*Edit: With the purchase of a PLM (device to bridge Vera to Insteon). The software is present out of the box, but no hardware.
