Triggering a scene based on an email

Hi All,

Does anyone know if it’s possible with Vera 2 (latest GUI) to trigger a scene based on an email being received? I don’t see any way for Vera to receive emails so it’s probably not possible but I thought I would ask just in case.

I’m trying to figure out a way to switch a bunch of stuff off when my alarm system is set (alarm.com system). I can get it to send an email anywhere when the system is armed but getting Vera to receive and act on that I think may not be possible.

If you can get your system to send a http request, there is a simple solution to your problem:

Hi,

Thanks for the info. I am still unsure how I would make this work based on an email being sent to an account. I am not a programmer so I apologize if I am asking dumb questions.

Any other guidance you can give me would be very much appreciated.

I can give guidance, if your alarm system is able to send a http request.

Hi,

Unfortunately my alarm can’t send HTTP requests, it can only send an email to an email account or a text to a phone. That’s why I asked if there was a way to trigger an event based on an email being received to an account somewhere. I can have it send the email to any account, but I don’t think Vera can access an email account to retrieve that email and trigger a scene upon it.
