Treo/General UI app supporting findvera?

For simplicity sake, I’ll describe my main goal as “letting the UPS guy in to drop off boxes”. So, want to see ip camera video and unlock Schlage door lock from Treo 755p. The more in-depth goal involves Vera as 1st level of security breach… but if someone can verify the phone can display the camera video, then my basic needs are met.

Using palm treo 755p’s, we’ll be checking Vera often.
I’m pleased how fast this forum works on the 755p. All my posts are from my 755p, flawlessly… but this forum is txt-based, and I can’t actually test logging into Vera since I don’t yet have Vera (still on fence about getting).

I’ve tried http://findvera.com/mo & http://findvera.com/iphone and they both display great on the 755p, but I can’t go further than that without a login & pw.

So, can someone:

  1. Give me a “test” login & password so I can test the apps on my Treo?
  2. Verify if there is there a specific palm-os app for a Treo?
  3. Link me to a list of operations https://findvera.com/mo will do?
  4. If there is no support for Palm, will there be?

Thanks,

I think what you’re asking for with the phone test pages is a great idea but I don’t think this is a priority for them to do. They could have a couple Vera’s hooked up with things to test out and maybe a video camera feed to see the lights turning on and such. I don’t think anyone is going to give you their login info to test it out either.

Palm is on the way out and this is probably going to be the last year you see them anyway. Their Pre was pretty much a flop. The key board way too small and the upgrades to it this year aren’t going to help. I had a 650 and 755p and liked them but they were so behind in times with features. They are always a couple steps behind other products.

I guess what I’m saying is I seriously doubt there will ever be a Palm app or support beyond what’s there already because of such a small and diminishing base of users unless a miracle happens and the come out with a excellent product quickly.

I guess I was too much to the point there…

So instead can anyone suggest how I verify Vera’s functionality on my Treo before I decide to get Vera?

Hi ChrisUSI,

We can configure a test unit for you. Send us a mail from the web form on http://micasaverde.com and we will reply with the instructions to connect to it with your Treo.

Just did… look forward to the test. Thanks mcvovidiu!

As you may noticed, that didn’t happened. We have all the test units busy with the testing and none was available for you to test. We’re sorry and after the UI3 release, we will prepare one for you, I will personally take care of that for you. Thank you!
