Trendnet cameras

I need help to set up two Trendnet IP-100w cameras. Can you point me to current instructions? The wiki seems to be out of date or maybe I’m missing something. In 616 Vera just found my cameras, but in 899 I can’t find a way to add them. It appears I need to start by entering UpnpDevFilename, but I have no clue what that is or where I’d find it. The combinations I’ve tried so far haven’t worked. I have access to the cameras in both browser and IPView Pro software, so I can see and configure all the admin information. Thanks for any suggestions.

Have you tried powering down the camera(s), then plugging back in so Vera can auto-detect its DHCP request (from your primary router or Vera herself, depending on your network topology)? I believe that’s how it worked for you in 616, and should be the same now.

Yes, I have tried that. However, in light of my recent realization that some things inexplicably work on the fourth try that didn’t work on the first three tries, I’ll try it again when I get home. Thanks.

Okay, I tried unplugging both cameras again, both the power and Cat 5, but no joy. Any other suggestions?

One is connected via Cat 5 to Vera and the other is Cat 5 to my Time Capsule. Thanks!

Thinking out loud:

o One router, maybe Vera, is set to issue DHCP?
o The available range of DHCP-issued IP addresses is not already saturated?
o Camera is viewable independently of Vera, from your PC?

Thanks for thinking out loud, LibraSun. Perhaps you could think out loud in a little more detail? I’m just thinking of those poor neophytes out there who might not understand what we’re talking about here (ahem).

In reverse order:
Both cameras are still viewable from a browser and from the little PC software app called IPView Pro.
Only a few devices on my network with IPs
Time Capsule uses DHCP to share a connection

I have no idea Some of the neophytes reading this have no idea if this answers your questions.

Totally answers my questions (which, yes, were kinda vague, but thought-provoking…), and these answers suggest the cameras SHOULD be working with Vera.
Now, it’s anybody’s guess what’s gone wrong. Hopefully, MCV will chime in on this, and/or you might go to Vera’s ADVANCED > LOGS and turn on “Verbose Logging” before trying the cameras once again. Then submit a trouble ticket.
