I would be interested in hearing from people who have a Trane XL624 installed and working with a VeraLite (1.7.619). I find that this thermostat uses some generic configuration and that configuration, though incomplete for this device, became very problematic after the firmware upgrade to 1.7.619. I have determined that in order to not corrupt the thermostat and the addition of a new device, I need to remove the thermostat from the network, add the new devices, and then re-add the thermostat as a final step. Also, since the upgrade, one of the thermostat’s sensors gets the name “_GET_LANG(generic_sensor,sensor).” Previously it was just ‘sensor.’ I’ve not yet installed my outdoor thermometer for this thermostat, so that could be the mysterious unit.
Regardless, I would like to hear of the success, or lack thereof, of others who have incorporated the Trane XL624. This thermostat goes by other names from other HVAC vendors.
Did anybody figure this out any further?
I have an outside temp sensor for reading swimming pool temp and although this reads fine on the Trane, I can’t get it to show on Vera edge. I suspect the _GET_LANG(generic_se device is this. However I am not sure of this and can’t find information on this. The properties on this also adjust for level of brightness and I suspect are meant to be for a lightbulb or similar. The number of specific Thermostats in the add device section is very limited and it would be helpful if there was a generic thermostat device.
I suspect the _GET_LANG(generic_se device needs re-configured but don’t know how to do this.
Do either of you have this but do t have an external temp sensor connected?
I just noticed that update 1.7.2043 (Vera Edge) reconfigured my Trane XL624 and two of the devices (of 3) disappeared. One was a mystery, but the other was the humidity reading from the thermostat. Vera has lost that, and is now not passing it on to my HA software. I would sure like that back, and have made a support request. Did others lose this feature with that update/ BTW, the recent updates (August 28) effected smoothly for both my Lite and my Edge. Humidity is still MIA.
