Touch panel control ?

I’d like to have a touch panel installed in the lobby to trigger scenes coming to and leaving the house. I thought of installing an iPad with wall brackets connected to Vera through Wifi but that would be an expensive solution.

Has anyone experimented with some other touch panels ?

I’ve been wondering the same thing. I am hoping when the new iPad comes out I’ll find some cheap on craigslist but now I’m considering this $99 Android tablet.

I was thinking of taking it to a frame shop and having a lightbox type of frame built around it.

I just bought this last week and am returning it today. The battery life is horrible, the resistive screen is slow to respond. Build quality is questionable (the white square on the home button was way off-center) but if it is staying mounted with a constant power source and a decent vera app, it might work as a vera controller. Just keep in mind it is no iPad so no pinching, zooming multi-touch etc. Price is about the only thing going for this device. And oh btw, if anyone is interested in a chumby device, here is one that will be on sale at black friday for $99. Better specs than the walgreens unit…

Has anyone written a chumby plugin??

I recall seeing a thread over at the chumby forum for a vera plugin. Don’t know the status …
