I have a 4 Fibaro Dimmers2s scattered about the house. I want to replace the lights with led bayonets bulbs. This means all 4 dimmers will have a load less than the required 50w. Fibaro are yet to release the dimmer2 bypass relay so I am stuck with either high wattage bulbs or replace the modules.
Anyone else have his issue or an idea on fixing it? A diy relay bypass?
Hi all, what country are you in? Dimmer Bypass 2 is available in all countries in Europe.
(As it doesn’t contain a radio, you could actually get it shipped from Europe and utilise it anywhere in the world without breaking any broadcast laws!)
Definitely don’t use the Bypass 1 - it will break the Dimmer 2.
Qubino dimmers have comparable performance to Fibaro, but they require a neutral at the switch. If you just have live & switched live (that’s what we have in the majority of properties here in the UK) you won’t be able to fit Qubino dimmers without rewiring.
If you do have a neutral at the switch, it’d be worth buying one LED bulb to try with the Dimmer 2 - the minimum load requirement is far less important when you have that neutral.
