The controller will automatically run a network heal nightly. Famous last words

Since this process took over for Heal/repair I’ve had a few issues

About once a week or maybe 3 times a month I’ve woke up in the middle of the night to a handful of my dimmable Z-Wave light bulbs will be on full bright. I have bulbs from two different vendors in this issue.

Yesterday I added 3 more receptacles (Linear WD15Z-1) Two had no issues with inclusion, but the last one, which was closer to the controller, would not include after many attempts. It was in devices but claimed it could not get any info on the node. Left it as is knowing time would resolve it.

My lights all came on at 3 am today. Oh good news the receptacle is all happy this morning too.

So how do we do, whatever Vera is doing, at 3 am. You know something like Heal/repair during the day so I can skip have to wake up to turn off our lights in the future. ???

Look into InControl HA and an Aeon Z-Stick Gen5. You can do manual heals whenever you want.

I like my system. My Veralite has been pretty trouble free. This minor issue will work itself out in time I assume.

Bebaldin, It seems you already give up on your vera and move to another controller from another post. However, I still see you around this forum and advise other to do the same. It is just interesting to me. :o :o

You mean other than the random lights coming on in the middle of the night . . .

Yeah other than that I’m pretty happy. The more I think about the random light thing, it is usually after I’ve added something and then the next ‘heal/repair magic’ that night does something. I just have to assume that a cron job is running or something. We need to be able to do this process in a manner that is controlled so if there are issues we can address them in a normal fashion, not 3 AM

I guess I don’t have a strong grasp of how z-wave works, but I’d prefer to have a system that doesn’t change anything unless I specifically tell it to. Does the nightly heal really help that much?

The nightly heal on UI7 with a recent firmware is now a feature(or bug depending on who you ask) of the zwave chip that the Vera itself does not seem to have much control over like it used to have.

I miss the manual heal capability I used to have to fix a troublesome device but for the last month or so, that automagic heal does not seem to have caused me to lose devices like it did a few times the first week or so. Granted, I am still on 1.7.649.
