Temporarily disable devices?

Is there a way to temporarily disable a device that is no longer in use? I am preparing for Halloween, so I have made some changes to my system specifically for this purpose (we are getting married that night, so I’m going all out).

Due to this, I have had to remove some of my devices. For instance my front security lights normally have a dimmer, but not they have non-dimmable CFLs, so I replaced it with just a microswitch (which I will re-use in my bathroom for the vent fan when Halloween is over). I’d love if there was a way to just disable the devices in the eyes of Vera so it doesn’t try and use them for purposes of heals and such (Where they will never configure).

So much ambition. Getting married, worried about Halloween and home automation for the same night. Good luck to you, and congratulations!

There’s no way, in UI5 to temporarily disable a device. Vera will try to contact the device for polls, heals and routes. Having the device removed or off temporarily may not cause a problem, but if you do have issues, you should exclude the out of commission device.

Yup…that is why I started in early September on everything. The Wedding is at the house, so the decorations have to be top notch

That stinks about the disabling of devices. One is a microswitch, but I suppose I can temporarily connect it to a plug so I can remove it if I need to (instead of having to wire it into a box somewhere).

Thought I would share some pictures of the house so far. These aren’t the most recent and some of it relies on the darkness of night to help it look right
