Tech Support in Vera - never finishes?

I have submitted two tech support items via Vera.

Once was just a minute or two ago, but has not come back.

The other has been there for quite a while.

Does the process ever say it is complete or that you can go on to other things?

The first one now shows a red circle with a line through it in the box in the upper right corner, where as the second one shows “Tech Support.”

Does that mean my submission to Tech Support failed?

Second one just changed to a check mark with User Data Reloaded.

So, did the first submission fail to go through, or was it that the system could not load the user data for some reason?

As I don’t know your email address or Vera serial I can’t tell you if it got through or not.
By default if your report was submitted you should see a message like this:

Successfully submitted trouble report 345.

Where 345 is your trouble report number.

same for me, sending tech report never finishes. (hw key error)

This has been fixed since release 1.0.523

I’m sorry cj, my Vera is running 1.0.523.

So was mine, but I am currently updating to 541.

It could very helpful for us if you could post here the exact string that you enter in the Trouble Report fields, that cause to not finish. It could be possible that some combination of non-alpha-numeric characters can cause this, but as I’ve tested in version 541 this should be solved.

Just sending one now. Full tech support was enabled. I waited 5 minutes before submitting this - Vera had not finished yet.

now (after 6 min.) the red failure-icon appears

I’ve received all the reports, the problem seem to be with the communications between js and the cgi, that sometimes crushed because of a cat command used in it and didn’t output the trouble report no to the user, but we did get all the reports. Now We’ve made the page standalone and also it’s showing progress to the user.

If someone wants to try the new stand alone trouble report I’ve attach it.
Put it in /www/cgi-bin/cmh/trouble_report2.sh and call it from http://local.findvera.com/cgi-bin/cmh/trouble_report2.sh

I’ll try it.
