Switching from wired lan to wifi

How do I switch the Vera 3 from using the wired lan port on the back to using my local wifi? I would like to move my vera 3 to a spot where it has good coverage out in the garage but there is no wired lan at that location. Only wifi access.

In Vera UI go to Setup → Net & Wi-Fi and there you will find all the information you need.

I tried that and unfortunately I don’t see a way to connect it to wifi. Only the LAN. the first page shows:

How does Vera connect to the Internet?
Automatically configure (recommended)
Manually configure (advanced)

If I unplug the lan wire even though automatically configure is selected then I loose connectivity. in other words, it doesn’t automatically connect to the wifi when the lan goes away.

If I pick manually configure then I only see LAN settings and no wifi settings:

There you have another option : “Through a wi-fi access point.” A menu will extend and you will find a button “Scand and connect to a wi-fi network”
Read the instructions there for more info.

well, that’s interesting. Do you know how to get that option to display if it’s missing? Are there conditions under which vera won’t show that option? Obviously I’m plugged into a router that is also a wifi access point but my vera only displays the 2 options of automatic and manual and not the third option of through a wifi access point.

ah, now I understand. I have vera lite and it has no wifi support or to put it another way it only connects to your wifi network through the wired network.
