switchgear, Push buttons, switches, wallplates and so on...

Ok, this may be stupid… but is there a forum or a place you guys go to for all your switching needs?

When it comes to switches you either have a choice - pay a large fortune for a vitrium or merten z-wave switch or sacrifice any continuity in your home with a white plastic paddle switch…

Also if you are retro-fitting your house with zwave as I am, you end up with a number of dimmer modules in behind normal toggle wall switches, but then you loose the dimming function.

Seems many modules need or work best with a push to make button (doorbell type button) but having searched the internet for a while - the choice of doorbell like buttons is tiny - and none are particularly stylish and few fit a standard British single single gang wall box.

If you are in the US you have a better choice - anyone else form the UK or EU that is having the same problem?

Similarly - are there any inline zwave modules for lamps and so on that allow local switching. I am thinking of replacing a number of my lamp’s (floor and table lamps) in-line switch or foot button with something z-wave. if anyone has any ideas - even for a housing and button to hold a fibaro dimmer/switch module i’d be grateful!

I think it would be good to get a forum topic on switchgear… maybe two or three - US, EU and UK? I know it’s not specifically micasaverde’s problem but it would certainly help people get z-wave into their homes!!

Well as you are in EU, Fibaro is probably a good choice? They are well supported in Vera, and can use mono- as well as bi-stable switches.
