Struggling to add GE 12724 Light Switch

I have a house full of GE 12724 and 12722 light switches and recently moved one to a new location. Sadly I can’t seem to add it no matter what I try. The vera just doesn’t seem to want to detect it in inclusion or exclusion mode. I added 2 others into the same gang box right next to the problem one and those detect fine so i’m at a loss as to why this last one won’t seem to detect.

Anyone have any ideas? I tried in both exclusion and inclusion mode to cycle it ON/OFF 4-5 times and nothing. If i tap one of the switches right next to it, the vera detects activity instantly.

Could be a bad unit. You may also need to do the exclude a couple of times in a row to get it to clear whatever setting got stored in its tiny brain.
