Street light control

Greetings!

I am working on controlling one block of street lights. Block is about 1000 meters long, so I’m bit concerned about range that transmitters can cover.

Any advice on how to tackle this?

Thank you!

The extended range in Z-Wave from device to device is 300 feet give or take - you are talking 1000 meters or more then 3000 feet without more information Z-Wave does not sound like a good solution for what you are trying to accomplish.

Z-Wave is also limited in Hop-counts from one device to the next. From memory, it max’s out at 4-hops, so even if you could achieve the theoretical 300ft “clear” distance, you’d be limited to ~1200ft (4x300) of linear street lighting.

It doesn’t seem like it’s the right Tech to be using to do this type of commercial control.

Thank you!

I’ll move on with my search.
