I just finished upgrading from a Veralite to a Vera 3. The migration process went (surprisingly) smoothly.
But I’m unable to log in via SSH.
I’ve got the password off of the bottom of the Vera 3 and I’ve confirmed it using Futzle’s method described here: http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,7110.msg62534.html#msg62534
I’m getting the prompt to log in and i’m using “root” as the user. I keep getting “Access Denied”.
Any pointers?
You could try the process in this post to see if that gets you a different password.
Solved!
I fired up WinSCP to test RexBeckett’s method. And it automatically logged in to my Vera 3 using the profile that I had set up for my Veralite. Looks like when you do a restore, it also restores your root password from the device you restored from!
Yes, a reset, restore default password. The alternative solution and details on why are contained here:

To reset or modify the password, you will need to log in via the link below and go to System > Administration. Change “Vera_ip” to match your unit’s IP address.
