SSH access to my Vera v1 (1.0.979)?

I have a used Vera 1 that I just picked up and I want to clean it up before I start playing. For now I’m not giving it Internet access. I’ve attempted to SSH into the box but I don’t know the password. Anyway to default the config back to factory? And what is the default root password? What’s the latest firmware and where do I find the source? I’m not that trusting and I want to make sure there are no back doors into my home network.

PS: I’m not paranoid, I’m the network administrator! ;D

Bring up the UI , click advanced icon, Net & wifi Tab, then click advanced configuration. go to system, and then click password. You can change the root password there.
