Sq Remote for Vera

Finally the native iPhone app is almost on the app store!

Are you sure it works with Vera???

Highlights

Simple to set up and configure within application. Not working the way you want it? Then change it, use it, share it!
Built-in controls for AV equipment, lights, thermostats, window shutters, door locks, fans, cameras, and many other household appliances and systems.
Extensive set of professionally designed icons and button types.
Automatically finds MIOS-based home control gateway systems, such as the Mi Casa Verde Vera system for IP Cameras, IR-AV Equipment, Z-Wave, X-10 and Insteon-based equipment.
Coming soon: SQ Remote for Google Android, PC and Mac.

Hmm… Sounds goood…

This is what some of us have been beta testing and trust me its pretty good.

I hope MCV will come up with a similar dashboard for vera.

Any ideas when the app will be available?

Does anyone know what MIOS stands for? Their site says, “Connect to a MIOS home control gateway…”

Maybe: Multiple In / Output System
Vera is a MIOS system/gateway

Hi all,

Yes, we will lunch soon a new interface. A better looking and functioning one.

From micasaverde.com’s about page: “Mi Casa Verde’s products are built on the MIOS platform, licensed from MIOS, Ltd.”

However, I can’t find any information online about MIOS, Ltd.

Sweet! Now how about an Android app? Home Buddy is the only I’ve seen for the Android powered devices, and it looks less than glamorous. Its free, but I’d pay for one supported by Vera if it didn’t have ads.

Anybody know if there is an Android effort in the pipes?

I can’t wait for this, it looks awesome.

Has anyone heard an official release date as yet - granted they’ll be waiting on Apple approval, but I’m wondering if it’s been submitted as yet?

Can’t find the thread now, but they said they hope to submit it to Apple by the end of the month (this week). They said they would post to this forum when they do.

i think i’ve seen that MCV has said the next release will have a native android interface directly from them

That’s a bit harsh on home buddy . A community member here spent his own time and effort to create it for himself and he was kind enough to share with the rest of us. It might not be eye candy but it works find and it’s free (unless you care to donate to the author). As much as I love my newest gizmo, vera, I realize that based on my serial number there’s not some giant installed base of millions so the subset of users with an iphone, or an android phone, etc isn’t going to be in the hundreds of thousands so that anyone is going to be able to retire today selling a phone app for 5 bucks on the thing, even if every last user who might have both phone x and a vera where to buy it.

Does anyone know the scheduled release date of SQ Remote, or a way of joining the beta team?

I’m really keen to play with it. 8)

I am on the beta team right now. They are currently working on getting findvera.com (IE Vera Control / Viewing outside of the local network that Vera is located) to work, as well as other “Bells and Whistles.” We are expected to get this new beta version in the next few days.

The latest I heard today was that they expect to submit it to the Apple for approval “very soon.”

As far as joining the beta team, I believe enrollment is now closed. There are only a limited number of us due to the fact that Apple only allows 100 test devices (iPhones or iPod Touches), per developer, over the period of a year. They said that if anyone of us test users lost or broke our iPhone or iPod Touch, we would loose the ability to be a Beta tester for them. (In fact, I have a dust spec under the screen of my 3GS that I would love to get fixed, but I know if Apple just exchanges it as opposed to repairing it, I would loose my SQ Remote App!!!)

I hope this gives everyone a better idea of what is going on with the SQ Remote Beta Testing.

I’ve gotta say, you all are going to love the SQ Remote App when it comes out… It has been stable from the first Beta version, and their devs have been very open to our suggestions. It really is great!
