Somfy RS485

Hey everyone,
I need your help with this one. I’m trying to get the VeraLite to control a Somfy Sonesse 30 RS485 motor but with no luck. I saw an App in the Install Apps section named “Somfy ST30 Blind Interface” and was hoping that this might work but still nothing. Here is my current setup:

Future Electronics UC232R-10 USB to Serial adapter > B&B Electronics 485BAT3 RS232 to RS485 adapter > Somfy Sonesse 30 RS485 Motor

I have the usb to serial install correctly and pointing to the Somfy ST30 Blind Interface and I’m getting nothing.

You might try swapping the A and B serial RS485 communication wire positions. Somfy’s description of A and B doesn’t jive with everybody else.

Let me know if that works, otherwise it might be the address you are using.

Yeah that didn’t work either. I’m attaching the current settings that I have in the VeraLite.

Thanks for your help Shady!

Have you established communication from the PC to the motor? Please confirm baud rate setting. Also, you may want to consider connecting the motor to a Z-Wave to Digital Motor Interface.

After talking directly to Somfy I got the correct rs232 to rs485 adapter. I was able to connect the shade to a PC and using their “ILT2 and ST30 RS485 Motor Configuration 3.5.3” program I got the address of the motor and got the shade to move. The address it me gave was “55E0F9-061FAA”. I’m using the correct baud setting that are in the book for the ST30 motor. I will attach the Serial Port configuration setting that I currently have.

Ideas anyone???
