I am running openLuup and AltUI on a docker container that is on a host that already has port 80 bound to another host service. Is there way I can get the default location for the icons in AltUI to point to port 3480 instead of 80? I’ve dug through the readme’s and poked around in the json files … I’m sure the answer is a tweak in there somewhere, but I am getting a bit lost.
You should find that the latest AltUI and openLuup versions address this issue. In fact, openLuup now has no dependency on a port 80 server at all, and all the icons that AltUI needs are now served over port 3480 (when running on openLuup.)
I have the same issue. Do I understand it right that it should load icons over port 3480? I’ve made a custom page and if i connect trough my own network it loads the device icons, if I connect external it doesn’t load them.
No. It’s an alternative to Vera. This discussion thread for AltUI specifically relates to use of openLuup. For AltUI running on Vera, icons are served over port 80.

External (with port forwarding enabled):
http://:3480/port_3480/data_request?id=lr_ALTUI_Handler&command=home&home=pageUsePages&layout=lean[/quote]
that url will not work. http://:3480/
ALTUI requires to use http:///port_3480
I never tried opening port but I suspect you need to forward port 80 and use that url
Ik van conform that my URL works with altui. Only the device icons on custom Page do not work

if you use a url with http://:3480/ format, it will partially work but not in all situations. I do not support that format so your issue could be “normal”.
if you do use the http:///port_3480 format, then please send more information so we can understand
a) a screen shot showing it ( with the url )
b) the javascript console log
c) the exact setup of your router / remote access configuration
I don’t have any issue when using the URL u give. I was looking for a way to access my Vera externally without the need of entering my credentials every time.
I guess that will never work then? My ISP blocks port 80 so I can’t forward it to my local Vera IP.

not the best network expert around but if you cannot forward port 80 I am afraid that s the end of the story. now of course you can use VERA MCV servers with the help of vera-ui.strongcubedfitness.com/Veralogin.php, or maybe you can open a VPN directly into your home network.
