I’m trying to create a scene to email me a pic (iPhone)
I’m on the Advanced Tab and thought i would plug in the correct variables from below. But I am getting an error
when running the scene manually.
Anyone (RS??) have an example of what to fill in correctly on a vera scene to get my pic sent .
Cam is device 80
Thie is quoted from RTS’s website:
SMTP Mail Profile
The Vera Alerts plugin allows you to send messages to any email address. This was added because of the problems with the MiCasaVerde’s problems with delivering notifications. It has the other nice benefit of being able to attach Pictures to the Email, from cameras that you select, at the time of the notification.
To attach a picture add the following to your message for each camera you want to capture and attach:
{Picture(XXX)}
Where XXX is the Vera Device ID for the Camera. This also supports the ability to override other profile parameters such as:
{From=XXX@YYY.com}
{Subject=This is a serious alert}
The defaults for this Profile are setup to send mail via your GMail account. SMTP settings can be complicated. You should be able to get the appropriate settings from your existing mail client.
If you use the Advanced Tab of a Scene or the PLEG/PLTS actions, or if you use LUA/LUUP then you can specify any target email address by supplying an email address as one of the recipients:
So this is working great, it is triggered by the front door sensor.
I have a yale lock, a front door sensor, and a front door motion sensor.
My next mod to this, and the reason I wanted it in the first place was to take a pic of people entering the building… Ideally out of work hours. So before 8 am. And after 8 pm and all day sat and sun.
I am getting all the time now since I have no conditions programmed, and also people leaving.
I think if I can fig out using the front door motion, and then door open event would, combined create a condition to not send the alert.
Is PLEG my only solution or lua and combo switch and countdown ok.
I read through REX’s conditional posts and will dive in today… But I know I will be back to some help.
I took the easy way out, I used a combination switch that combines my alarm panel partition being armed and the front door contact being tripped.
I wanted to take a pic on weekends and the AM and logically the alarm is set during those times.
I have a serene that does a nightly lockup just in case the last employee out does not arm the alarm or lock the front door … Lights etc. so the above should always be the conditions for it to work.
I used the {Picture(###)} method to send pics of Doorbell cam, front porch cam, and front yard cam all in one email. Although, I did delete the rest of my cams from vera and just trigger Blue Iris to send the photos or clips for everything else. I only use the VeraAlerts method because I can send photos of multiple cams in one email. Camera support really stinks and seems to use a lot of memory, so I only have 4 on my main vera. If you use Blue Iris, the alert options are much more robust when dealing with cameras than the vera is.
I’m brand new, I just received my vera 3 yesterday with motion sensor. I’m trying to get a picture emailed when the sensor is triggered. I installed vera alert, but when I simply try to send a test email from the vera alert, it doesn’t seem to send anything. I checked my spam and I don’t find anything.
Did you need to setup vera alert with some more information?
Thank you for your help
