SMS Alerts have no content.

After the Vera network upgrade email in preparation of UI7, I’ve had problems with SMS.

The current issue is my text message reads like this:

Alert/Notice from Your Vera System
message has no content. subject:
ALert/Notice from Your Vera System

I originally created direct triggers in the Automation tab. I unchecked those from being active and went to the dashboard, clicked the wrench of the device, then the notification tab and added the alerts there so specifically this is for the Kwikset lock to alert if it is unlocked/locked.

I also then noticed that a new set of Triggers appeared after creating these notifications along with the disabled ones and assume this is by design.

So the texts are received just fine but the “message has no content” is what I’m confused about.

I am having the same problem with all my text alerts. My email notifications are working fine, they tell me what triggered the event. I am having no luck getting any help from Vera, they are ignoring my emails, chats, and phone calls.

Hmm…well thanks for the response. I need to reboot the Vera and see if anything changes. Let me know if you hear anything.

I spoke with them today and was told it would be forwarded to their developer. I think it is a systemic problem with their software. Sounds like they are getting quite a lot of inquires into this problem.

Thanks for that update.

Any luck? I still have the same problem.

Nope. I haven’t played much with it and I’ll try rebooting and see but seems like change management… Aka upgrade something, break it, wait for another release again. Rinse repeat.

I stopped the receiving text message alerts around the end of June so I switched to e-mail alerts. After a few weeks, the message body became empty. I used UI6 to confirm my mobile phone number again, and now the text messages are working again for me.

Odd…I did that with support but I’ll try again soon.

This morning the text message finally worked!
