Smoke detector only during selected time?

Hi all.
I got a question on Smoke detector.
Well as i need a smoke detector in my car shop i also need it to be turned off during the day and only active at night is that possible or are the smoke detectors always active ?
If it is possible to set it in the Vera edge how do i do that? As I am rely new to this i rely need help from you and if some one can make a guide for me or put me in the right way on how i can do that?

Hope for a good solution and guide on this.

@ Wizz ; I guess you can bypass the sensor, than you can stop the notifications and trigger. There is an build in sirene as well? I doubt you can bypass that one.

Putting a smoke detector in your garage is not a good idea . Why don’t you install a temperature sensor and a set point (15-20 degrees Celsius) higher as the maximum temperature it can get in for example summer with that set point you send out a trigger or notification.

Thats bad as it is in my work shop not my garage.
I work with car repair and at night i want it to be active.
But as you say i can try a heat sensor and see if that works.

Ah , I see . I was reading garage in stead of car shop.

What you can do is hook up a smore sensor on a power source which you can disconnect, attach the power source with a relay which you controlll with vera… a bit of tinkering involved. And fire department/insurance might not be happy when you have means of disconnecting a smoke alarm.
