I have a 220V thermostat that has a dry contact to change the behavior.
When this contact is closed, the thermostat will switch to its “away” temperature.
What would be the simplest way to close that contact using Vera ?
Thanks

…the simplest and the cheapest…
You could do it with a 110v Z-Wave switch module (non dimming) that is connected to a relay to control the 220V. Pretty basic…

I know I could use the HomePro ZRW113W Z-wave Relay Switch to close the contact on my TH115-A-240D AUBE THERMOSTAT.
The ZRW113W costs about 65$ and I’m trying to find a less expensive relay.
Any suggestions ?
No, what I’m saying is getting a 220v relay, that uses 110v to trigger it. Use an appliance Z-Wave module & bingo you have an inexpensive 220V controller. The only thing is what AMPs your 220v requires & getting the proper relay to handle it.

Though, this may be overkill…
Thanks ComputerJohn
I already have the right thermostat (TH115-A-240D AUBE THERMOSTAT). This thermostat has a special contact to trigger the “away” mode.
I just need the cheapest device that can be used to trigger that contact when, through a scene, I decide to set the thermostat to “away” mode to spent less energy when possible.
Is there a better and more creative suggestion than using the ZRW113W switch relay that costs about 65$ ?

This in-line relay is $44, not a whole lot cheaper than the relay based switch.
I too am looking to close a 220v relay. Does anyone know if I can simply use a ZRW113W Z-wave Relay Switch (aka Evolve LFM-20) alone without needing a 110v Z-Wave switch module (non dimming) to trigger it?
Here is my current situation: Have a double pole 220v regular switch in a wallplate controlling some gutter heat tape that draws less than 20amps. There are two of the two conductor (plus ground) romex coming into the box: each conductor from the house line is 110v to ground, giving 220v total between the two, then the DPST switch of course closes the loop when on. Since it has 110v isolated contacts, is there a way to just use that ZRW113 relay alone without sending current back through ground?
You should be able to replace that switch with the module, since it has isolated contacts, and can support up to 20A. You will need to use 1 of the 120V hot lines to power the device as well. checkout the “load” picture on the link below:
manual: http://www.smarthome-products.com/productspecs/evolve/LFM-20.pdf
The relay on this device is isolated from the power line, so it can be used to switch any load, including low voltage. This can be used in areas where an X10 universal module may have been used.
The LED on the LFM-20 will turn on when the load attached is ON. The LED is user configured however to turn ON when the load attached is OFF, if so desired.
The LFM-20 supports the AS101 and AS001 auxiliary switch.
Max load 20 amps.
Supports Z-Wave 40Kbps speed
Signal (Frequency): 908.42 MHz

I don’t think I can do this since I am trying to replace a double pole switch. It appears that z-wave relay is a single pole so I can’t see any way of pulling this off. Unless someone knows of some electrician’s trick that could make this work?
Otherwise, I think I need to run another 110v line to nearby and install another z-wave switch to control a separate relay to close the contacts.
I am installing same thermostat Aube thermostat TH115-A-120S and considering to use

Do you think it would work?
