Not finding anything on the wiki, and I think I’m missing something on the few posts I’m finding on the forums here. I’ve got a GE 45601 remote, I’ve tried to add it to my Vera2 (build 1245) following the instructions in the Vera UI and the booklet, and it appears in the Vera dashboard as a device (named “_Scene Controller”, as I haven’t renamed it yet).
I guess I assumed that the remote would inherit the lights, scenes, and thermostats from Vera, but that hasn’t happened. I’m pretty sure I shouldn’t be directly pairing the remote with the other Z-Wave devices, but what do I need to do to get it to control my other devices?
You should be able to add devices to different groups directly on the controller and you can also set up scenes on your Vera unit and add a new event for each scene, select the scene controller device with the action ‘A scene is activated’ and where it asks you for the scene number just enter the number of the scene you want to run with the controller. After that you will have to put Vera in include mode, and the controller in transfer/receive data mode.
So basically if you create an event and type in the scene number 1 on the event, you should be able to run the scene 1 on the controller which should activate the scene created on Vera.
