Hi All,
I’m having problems with my new Vera and a Trane thermostat. I live in the US and everything is in Fahrenheit. After reviewing the logs, it appears my issue is because Vera is converting everything to celsius and sending to to the thermostat in celsius (of course the thermostat is expecting a Fahrenheit temprature). More details below from an email I sent to support, but I’m hoping someone here has an idea? I did a forum search and wasn’t good or lucky enough to turn up any results. I guess I could keep converting F temps to C, but I’m hoping for a “clean” fix. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
----Begin description----
When I issue the command through the vera web interface to change the cooling setpoint to 82 degress F, the logs show that vera is sending a command to change the temp to 28 degrees. Nothing appeared to happen on the thermostat because 28F is an invalid temperature for the thermostat (below freezing).
When I issued a command to change the cooling setpoint to 144 degrees Fahrenheit, it shows in the logs that it is sending a command to change to 62 degrees. I looked at the thermostat and it setpoint did indeed change to 62 degrees.
It should be noted that both my thermostat and vera are set to run in Fahrenheit.
There appears to be an issue/bug with how the system is handling the Fahrenheit/Celsius conversion. It looks like Vera is taking my Fahrenheit temperature and converting it to Celsius and sending the command to my thermostat in Celsius. SInce my thermostat is programmed to work in Fahrenheit this is causing issues.
