And now I am stuck at the part where I have to select the serial port. In the top of the screen there is a blue bar with the text: RFXtrx : Choose the Serial Port. And under device I see the newly added rfx device.
So when I click on the ‘Serial Port configuration’ button (link), just nothing happens. Check out the screenshot I made:
I am using FireFox, tried IE11 but nothing helps.
//edit
So when I reboot the veralite with the usb disconnected I can select the ‘Serial Port configuration’ button.
I see the text:
Serial Port configuration
If you connected the USB/serial device and it’s not displayed here, reload Luup.
Not available
Then I connect the usb, klick reload luup button, the top blue bar says something like: loading. Then the message ‘RFXtrx : Choose the Serial Port’ comes back in the blue bar. But the options to select the serial port don’t come… still the same text: Not available.
I tried plugin 8, beta1, beta2. I flashed the rfx to version 77. The veralite is up to fate it says.
I had the same problem, contacted support and they fixed it for me. Next firmware will be released soon with fix included.
First time contact with support and very pleasant!
I used the latest release from trac under UI7RC.
I had a similar problem with my first Vera Lite which I got yesterday. In reading the forums, I determined that UI7 does not allow you to configure the serial port. Apparently a bug which will be fixed in the next update? Problem is if you downgrade to UI5, the Vera servers will upgrade you back automatically or so I am told (there are threads explaining this on the forum).
Several emails to support and no response. I called numerous times and got transferred to vmail. Finally, called early in the morning and got someone on the phone who turned got me reverted to UI5 by unsetting the “Auto Update Flag” on their systems.
Unfortunately, I was still not able to see my serial device (AD2USB) that is plugged in to the USB port on the Vera Lite. An hour on a chat window with support (and them connected to my Vera Lite) and they are stumped as well. They opened a case and say they will get back to me in 24hrs.
My first experience with the Vera has not been what I had hoped.
Have to wait and see what they come up with.
And by the way, I hate having to enter 4 verifications every time I post something to the forums. Are there that many bots out there posting to the micasverde forums???
Internet Explorer should be your last resort as it’s the least compatible. As for verifications these will go away after a certain amount of posts. And yes the bots are bad and the main reason why it is place. We like to keep the forum squeaky clean.
