I am trying to install 7 Hawking HRDS1 window/door sensors and 2 ZIR000 motion detectors. I have seemingly successfully paired all but 1 HRDS1. Is there a link for setup instructions for these sensors? I have read the instructions that came with them but can’t say that I completely understood them and there is much more missing.
For instance, 3/7 HRDS1 window/door sensors show a red man running icon. I understand that is supposed to signify that it is tripped but the doors are closed?
I had 2 ZIR000 motion detectors installed that seemed to have vanished now. I haven’t run a heal yet so I hope that they will reappear once I run a heal. One of them had a red running man displayed on the dashboard that didn’t go away when I tried excluding then including again (seemingly successful when done remotely).
Have I missed basic Vera setup instructions or does one pick up scraps of knowledge from the forum and try to get just enough to set up completely?
I have Vera2 and Firmware 1.1.1047, which it says is the latest??
Thanks
Tom
Double check the devices are configured and have a config date & time listed. Then open the doors and close them, the sensor should reset.
*Edit. Check the batteries are functional.

How do I “configure” the HRDS1 and ZIR000 detectors? I understand that it has to be done within a minute of set up but I can’t find instructionj for configuration.
Thanks
Remove and reinstall one of the batteries & click the metal switch with wheel. Click confgure node right now on Vera.
I dont have the ZIR000 so cant help you with that.

From instructions found here: http://www.smarthome-products.com/productspecs/ZIR000-Manual.pdf
“To include or exclude the ZIR000 from the Z-Wave network, press the brown button marked “button” (inside) when prompted by a Z-Wave controller. For ZIR000 to work properly over longer distances (i.e. communcate via more nodes), add it to the network after you have added all other non-battery operated devices. Now replace the cover and screw. The ZIR000 will stay “awake” for ten minutes when power is first applied to allow time for configuration.”

I tried to exclude then include then configure 7 HRDS1 sensors. 3/7 are still not operating properly. 2/3 have red man running. 1/3 has a blue man standing but a message “waiting for wakeup to configure”. Is there a way to tell remotely if they are configured? If they are not configured, it there a way to do that remotely if I have a local person open the door?
Thanks
Hi,
Have you check the MS configuratrion settings?
Wakeup interval (seconds): 1800
ConfiguredVariable # 17
ConfiguredVariable # 18 ( OFF/ IDEL delay )
If you see the red man running, it means the sensor triggerred. After aboout 2min, the icon should change back to blue man standing if no motion detected at all.
The 2 door sensors with the red running man have been unchanged since I tried pairing them and configuring them several wks ago. I am certain that these doors have been openned several times since them but the red running man persists.
Excuse my ignorance but how do I check the MS configuration settings?
What are the default settings for ConfiguredVariable? Is it blank and do I add #17 and #18?
Remove the sensors from their location. Do the lights on those sensors light brightly when you open/close using the magnet? A dim glow wont cut it.
Use fresh batteries, bring the devices close to Vera, remove one of the batteries and re-insert it (this will wake the device) click the metal tamper switch 3 times and click configure node right now on Vera.
JOD.
When I do this, do I just have to put my vera2 in the include mode first by just tapping on the zwave button on the back? Else do I have to use the installation wizard or add/remove device button on the top line?
I’ve never used the button method.
For the initial inclusion I would personally use: Add/remove device, Z-Wave next, go to the bottom of the page and include one, any, high power.
Make sure you remove a battery from the HRDS1 and re-insert it before tapping the “Go” button just to make sure the device is awake. Then tap the metal tamper switch 3 x’s
If the device wont include, try the process again and switch from include to exclude.
Then start again with the inclusion.
JOD.
I had the “waiting for wakeup to configure” message from my HRDS1 for few months (was too busy to take care).
The easiest way to fix it was to bring them to my desk, take out and re-insert battery (just in case) - and most important - go to Vera and click Configure Now button. Then put 'em back to their locations and hit Discover Neighbors. Immediate success - no more problems whatsoever.
I didn’t do any kind of remove/re-inclusion.
