Selecting "TV" Audio Input with a Sonos Playbar

Hello,

Great plugin!

I am having trouble selecting the “TV” Audio Input with a Sonos Playbar. Basically, while Sirius is playing I want to make a scene that switches the Playbar back to the TV input. My settings are below.

In the “Advanced” Tab I have “PlayURI” and
URIToPlay = AI:
Volume = 30

I was thinking by just setting “AI:” it would you use the PlayBars built in Optical input, but I’m not sure if I need to set it to AI:TV?
Any Idea what I should set the URIToPlay to?

My Playbar switches to TV automatically whenever the TV turns on, even if it is actively playing something. Does yours not do that?

Yes, it does. However I want to be able to switch it back to the TV input even if the TV is already on.

Sometimes I have Sports center playing in the background while the wife and I listen to music. I want to be able to switch it back to the TV input if I see something interesting come on.

Oh, I see. I just took a quick look and I’m not sure. I haven’t tried to implement it yet.

Just wanted to check in and see if anyone has any idea on this. Spent some more time trying to get this to work but still no luck. My soundbar is named “1-TV” and I’m wondering if the dash might be causing the problem. I’ve tried using “AI:1-TV” as the input and can’t get it to work. I might try removing the dash in the name next.

Here is what I just tried and it seems to work so give it a try. have the playbar playing the tv audio and do a reload of the vera ui, go to the device in vera and in the advanced tab look for current track uri, mine is x-sonos-htastream:RINCON_000E58BC013001400:spdif yours might be different I have no idea. then create a new scene and select you plarbar zone form the device list then select PlayURI and copy what your current track URI was there.

Btw, my URI was different than yours.

I could try to improove the plugin to support audio input of the Playbar.

For that I need 2 information:

  • how many audio inputs provide the Playbar ? Only one optical input ? Edit: yes, only an optical audio input
  • what is the URI displayed in the Help tab (variable AVTransportURI) when you select the audio input with the Sonos application) ?

Please check the URI on the playbar device when the playbar is playing its audio input, and check the URI on another zone when this zone is playing the playbar audio input. Just in case there would be a difference.

the current AVTransport URI on the playbar when playing the tv is x-sonos-htastream:RINCON_000E58BC013001400:spdif
On another zone you cannot play just the tv audio, you have to group to the playbar zone to get the tv audio, when grouped to the playbar and the playbar is the cordinator the other zones AVTransport URI is x-rincon:RINCON_000E58BC013001400.
