I successfully paired the Schlage Motion Detector (Model: “PIRZWAVE1”, Product Name “Zwave PIR Sensor”) with my VeraLite.
The Motion Detector is successfully detecting motion, and I’m getting notification texts.
However, when I try to use the VeraLite Portal to stop motion detection, which I will want to do when people are in the home, it does not work.
I go to the VeraLite web portal, in the menu item, the “_Motion Sensor” device is listed, with the option to select or .
When I select , it does not have any affect: when I create motion, I still get an alert.
I also notice that the install instructions include a “Test Tamper Indication” section which recommends to check whether the Tamper Indication alerts are working. If you remove the cover, the Schlage motion detector sends an alert to the Nexia Bridge. The Veralite does not include this as an alert option in the menu, “Add Notification For” section.
It looks like this device is only going to work properly with Schlage’s own Nexia Bridge controller (i.e. it’s “Zwave” but “proprietary”, and not with the VeraLite - is that right?
Or is there some way, without being a professional programmer, to get this thing so I can turn it off when i need to?
Also any way to get the “Test Tamper indication” alert to work with the Veralite (a nice-to-have but not vital if I can get the thing to turn off when I want to)?
Thanks
Has anyone else had issues putting the Schlage Motion Detector in “Bypass” mode?
So does the PIRZWAVE1 not work with the Vera? I am having a hell of a time trying to program it to work with my system and trigger the light on.
Are you sure you have the right notification set up? You can set it up to alert you when it is tripped (regardless of the armed status) and you can set it to “an armed sensor is tripped”. If you set it to the former, it won’t matter if it is armed or bypassed, it will notify you. See my screenshot below. BTW, I use Schlage motion sensors, but I’m not sure they are the same model. I do know they are the ones for their Nexia service (but I use them on the Vera).
And BTW, the tamper notification does not work in vera. I wish it would, but it just doesn’t. I do believe this is something the MVC can fix in a firmware update, but I’m not 100% sure on that.
