Schlage Locks

Have Vera2 and having difficulties pairing Schlage Locks. I have tried excluding them, including them, taking the battery
out of the locks. Vera does not respond. I have 1.1.228 firmware. Thought I would put it out to this group that has
been great in helping me resolve other issues.

I initially had problems, too, with my Vera1 but Vera2 should work about the same. I found the full power inclusion method outlined here worked for me:

Thanks. Unfortunately with vera2 and the UI3… most of this documentation
is not applicable… but think there are enough points here to steer me
in the right direction.

I was able to pair one lock with Vera2, but have had zero luck with my second lock… it will not flash green to signify being added, but Vera2 does the rapid blink when it shows it is adding something successfully… also, it will come up on the device list, but will fail to get the secure classes it appears,… ive added and removed it multiple times now…

Any suggestions will be appreciated!

Try resetting the lock by removing the 9 volt and hitting the schlage button then put the battery back on and hold down the schlage button until it beeps. Remember it will reset the programming code to factory default if you’ve changed it.

I appreciate the good suggestion but I’ve done that twice now and it still only adds without the ability to “Get Secure Classes”… getting downright frustrating >:(

I had the same problem when I was trying out UI3. I thought they had already come up with a fix so I’m guessing they didn’t yet and it won’t work at all unless you can revert back to 1.0.979 and start over with everything. I would look into doing that until they can get the new UI working more reliablely. I had issues with the lock in .985 so I would stick to .979 for now.

I was finally able to get the lock to bind… I had to use Vera2 to physically delete the lock. Doing a hard reset did not seem to do the trick. Another part of the problem is that there are several places where they have put a DELETE button for a device, but only ONE PLACE where it actually tells you HOW to delete it using Vera2 (The key is to hold the Zwave button down 5 seconds until it blinks fast…)
It would be very helpful if ALL of the delete buttons took you to the same page as Device>Zwave>Remove One

Being a newbie to Vera requires some growing pains when the dev team is so far ahead of the documentation team  So, this issue is solved for me. The key being that out of the box, this lock didnt bind correctly, and when that happens, it needs to be delete using Vera(2) before it can be re-added, and doing a hard reset wont delete it fully.

I post this response only to illustrate my own ignorance that has been a source of frustration:

I have vera2 and about 10 outlet and switch devices and two thermostats. I was recently in a Lowes
saw the Schlage display and decided to add a couple of the deadbolt locks. I look around at the display
and buy two deadbolts that are pictured on the Schlage Brochure and Display.

I than spend the last 30 -45 days on an off trying to get them paired… reading all the posts on this
board I believe it is a firmware issue, a UI3 issue…

No it is a Lowes merchandising issue and my ignorance. You would think that Lowes would
stock ZWave Locks similar to those two feet away on the Schlage Display. They do NOT. The locks
they sell look identical from the front of those pictured on the brochure and display but do not
contain ZWave capabilities. In fact, after figuring this out I wasn’t able to special order them but
was able to order online.

I understand most Lowes stores perhaps all do not carry the ZWave Locks… even though
they picture the system in the lock aisle.

I just got burned, too. I bought BE365 locks instead of BE369 locks. I am going to try to return them.
