Schlage locks, rename CODE 1, CODE 2....

After pairing the door locks, Vera found all codes and names them CODE 1, CODE 2, etc…
If I add a new code it looks like I can specify a name for it.
Any way to rename theses codes that Vera read so that I know show they belong to?

I just deleted them…

If others are using those codes, delete and recreate using a better name and the old PIN.

Looks like I will have to do this as well. Might take a bit. I don’t know everyones codes.

oh yeah… you are porting from schlage link to vera…

I originally thought you were asking about the default 2 codes… ouch if you had set a bunch up
in link and then want to name them in vera, that I could see would be worthwhile thing.

You may want to just email support http://micasaverde.com/support.php and see if they know of an ‘undocumented’ way you can rename them. I am sure you can’t see the PINs as that would be a vulnerability. But a rename would not.

Then again, thats way beyond my abilities.

We had to delete and add back.

Well, asked support and got this answer:

You cannot rename/modify the pin code name because the door lock doesn’t support this. If this option will be available from the locks manufacturers, we will implement in into Vera as well. The only option is to delete it and then re-add it.

Don’t think I quite understand this as it would seem to imply the names are stored in the lock. Schlage link had the names for all the codes so if they were stored in the lock they should be able to be retrieved. I tend to think that Schlage link aliased the CODE1, 2,3… to names locally and can’t quite see why Vera can’t do this as well.

For now I will just create scenes against the code numbers to see which is which so I can delete and recreate with proper names.

Figured it out.

Currently running ver 1.0.996

Go to advance Zwave settings for the lock.

There is a field PinCodes.

Change the Text for Code 1, Code 2, etc…

All is well.

I can’t set any user is/pins, i only have 2 listed (code 1 and code 2)…the software shows the new pin after adding, but a few minutes later it is gone…no pins/users stick…any help would be appreciated! thanks

If your new codes don’t stick I would assume that your pairing with the lock is not working. If you can remotely unlock/lock the door lock then pairing is fine. Check this first. When setting a new code it can take up to a minute for confirmation since the request needs to be encrypted and sent to the lock.

Thanks Jim. I think the pairing is fine since I can remotely lock and unlock, but cannot remotely set any PINS…
