Schlage lock not reporting status to Vera

I have a Schlage FE599NX CAM 619 Lever door lock and if I manually press the unlock button on the lock itself it does not immediately report this to Vera. I am able to remotely lock and unlock it and the status changes instantly but not if I press the button on the lock directly. I’ve searched around the forums and have not been able to find similiar threads for this issue. Thanks in advance

You must not be using the proper search terms as I know from memory this has been brought up in the past. How far is the lock from Vera? It is most likely that the lock may be too far for the status message to return back to Vera. In other words the messages sent to and from the lock have a expiration time. It is only a few seconds. If the message does not get to Vera by that time frame, Vera will just discard the message as it has expired. The only way to improve this is by having additional zwave devices that support beaming near the lock.

Interesting. The lock is about 25 feet in a straight line distance from it with one wall in the middle. I’ll relocate the lamp module dimmer that came with the lock in the middle to see if that improves reception. Thanks Garrett

For locks, either Vera or another z-wave device that supports beaming should be with-in site of the lock for better communication. Even though the lock may be about 25 feet from Vera, it may not be enough to get the status back to Vera in time.
