Afternoon everyone, I’ve been working on this for the past couple of hours and am looking for some guidance.
I’m currently trying to install a Schlage Deadbolt (BE369) with my new Vera. I’m not having any success pairing the lock. I’ve followed the Wiki several times, reset the lock and unpaired the lock to make sure it was fresh. Also read through a number of other posts about Schlage locks.
In the Wiki, it says, “If the version is 2.40 your dongle does not have the security class implemented.”
Does this refer to any dongle before 2.40 or just 2.40?
In the My dongle is a version 1.78 L:1 (I just received my Vera last week and it was purchased as a package with the lock)
What methhod are you using.
Use Method 2 bring the lock to vera.
make sure you have a complete install before moving the lock to the door.
check your logs TAB = Advanced click Logs, click SHOW Z WAVE LOGS. look for the lock sequence. Make sure the log shows all 19 lock codes. it will poll 1-19.
This can take about 10 or so minutes.
If the lock does not respond after you move the lock then vera is too far from the lock. You will need to install another Zwave Device that supports the Beam. Such as the light module by schlage or a Shlage thermostat. Most of the newer GE/ Jasco now support this you will need to check the firmware .Ver 2.0a and v3.0a have the new firmware.
Ge/jasco units 45609 & 45614 do not support this yet.
Thanks for the reponse Zmistro - I was using method 2 and the deadbolt was within 24 inches of the Vera while I was trying to pair it. I’ll have a look at the logs, thanks for the suggestion
A cut n’ paste from Setup > Devices > Z-Wave options > = Version 1.78 L:1
Am I looking for the dongle version in the wrong area?
Update -
I was successful pairing a Schlage Lever LiNK lock that I purchased separately. Used the same sequence as the deadbolt but was successful this time.
I may sound like a dumb question but did you put the AA batteries in as well as the 9 volt. If you only put in the 9 volt the lock will work but the z-wave won’t.
Is the lock not being recognized at all in the inclusion process or is it being seen but wont configure? Also, you said the Lever lock installed correctly? Is it still installed and, lastly, have you installed the deadbolt before or is this install the first one for the deadbolt…or any deadbolt to Vera?
I just paired my schlage lock using method-3 (leave Vera connected and about 60 feet away with two walls between the devices).
It took at least four tries and I did not have a laptop so I had to push the button on my PC and run through the house. I changed timeout to 60 and kept on entering the lock’s program code-schlage-1 sequence when I arrived at the lock.
I set up notifications for both good and had codes. At first they were in the same scene and I was getting notifications for valid codes but not invalid codes.
So I thought it was a bug related to two lock events in the same scene.
I then split them into two scenes. Same thing. No notifications on bad pin.
Any idea?
