Hi
I had a LE162 wich i installed approx 18 months ago and initially for about 6 months it worked OK,
The Initial pairing was a bit of a pain but i read somewhere that once it is paired the lock and the zwave dongle take about 10 more minutes to send a number of security profiles, so after a few times it worked ok, and i could control the lock from the UI or my iPhone app.
After about six months i looked at the battery compartment and the batteries supplied had actually leaked a bit so i cleaned out the battery compartment and i think it was ok.
Over the next year or so it seemed to consume more and more batteries, and from time to time the lock keypad would freeze, sometimes i would remove the batteries and it would work for a while maybe a week or so.
Eventually the lock stopped working completely, and i contacted support in ANZ and they agreed to replace the lock.
So the new lock arrived today and i installed it,
- cannot seem to pair it with the zwave network, i have tried 6 or 7 times and will try again tomorrow.
- managed to program the lock manually so a code will open the front door.
- The mechanical operation of the lock manually now seems to be a big issue, the ability to lock or unlock the door manually (with the keys provided) is problematical, it appears that the tumblers are binding on something, have enlarged the holes and nothing obvious seems to stand out, the lock will perform the 1st function e.e. LOCK then the sprung loaded rotation pin seem to jam and does not return to the default position required for the key to be able to UNLOCK the lock. the reverse is true of the door is unlocked when it is fitted the key is able to LOCK the door but the the mechanism seems to jam. If i loosen the bolts that hold the front of the lock to the back of the lock the mechanism works fine with the keys.
If the lock is assembled on the door and the key is not used, a code programmed manually then the door locks and unlocks without a problem, no issue, if the key is used it again jams the mechanism.
I have unpaired the lock, and then paired it again,
I have reset the lock, Un-paired and then tried to pair the lock
I have repeated the above several times.
If anybody out there has some advice i would be happy to hear from you, but in my view it is not a very reliable product, and i am now searching for a new z-wave lock, and again if there is anybody who has first hand experience with other products i would love to hear it.
best regards
Jeremy
