Schlage Deadbolt fail?

hey there folks…this one is for all you schlage link deadbolt users out there…Anyone had one die where the Z-Wave radio stops responding? I’ve installed a ton of these and have had no problems in the last year, but my original deadbolt from 2+ years ago all of the sudden stopped talking with my Vera2 running 1.1.1362 and Z-wave 3.20 in the past few days

Everything else is working great after I recently restored from a backup (my z-wave matrix went POOF! all by itself) but my original Schlage deadbolt was having trouble talking with the lock. I finally removed the lock from vera using the master code, reset the lock, and tried to pair it back into vera2. She see’s the lock and it fails on the getting the security scheme. I’ve tried everything over and over each time removing the lock from Vera, resetting it and attempting to pair it again…same issue. I see the lock in Vera2 dashboard, and no matter what it just won’t get the security key exchange, even when I leave Vera there for a while next to the lock. I’ve got vera2 plugged into a long extention cord and she’s a wifi client, so I can plop her next to the lock, far away, several feet away, standing on my head and all other spots I could try…just won’t pair.

Any ideas would be great…Not sure if somehow the Z-Wave radio is wacked, but seems that Vera see’s a node, knows its a lock, but won’t pair.

Did you also perform an exclude?

JOD.

Did you also perform an exclude?

Yep, every time. It was 100% excluded, reset the lock to be sure, then attempted pairing again from all over the place (next to the lock, a few feet away, several feet away etc) Nada…

Update: Paired it with my new Vera3 and UI5 beta and it worked fine first time. Something is wacked with my Vera2 and although I can pair other devices I see the dreaded “fail to go into learn mode” - but it does learn. Wierd…My PRI:YES and everything else works fine on my Vera2, except this damn lock.

I submitted a support ticket - 32126

My goal is to update my Vera2 and get that all working properly before I transfer the network over to the new Vera3 that just arrived…I do NOT want to rebuild my network again, I’ve done this way to many times in the past year between Vera1 and Vera2

Support answered my ticket within a few hours and did something to my box remotely that fixed the problem. It exchanged keys the first time with no issue after this. Not sure what it was, I asked them to explain if possible so if there is a next time I can fix it myself
