Scenes to set what time the central heating comes on with one button press

Hi guys,

(apologies if this has been asked before - I have searched)

I would like to create 3 simple scenes like this for controlling my central heating:

Scene 1 - sets the central heating so it comes on at 6am
Scene 2 - sets the central heating so it comes on at 7am
Scene 3 - sets the central heating so it comes on at 8am

What would be the best way to do this?

What I would like to achieve is that - when going to bed, I can select at what time the heating comes on in the morning with one button press

If you want to avoid code, have a look at the Virtual Clock plugin from the App Store.

I use this to turn my heating on at a preset time 5 days a week, but I think you could install 3 of these call them 6am Heating, 7am Heating, 8am Heating etc.

Have a go yourself, but i think you need to set the Wake Up time on each one to be the start time option you want and then point them all to same scene number that’ll turns your heating on. There is an Arm or Run option that might be the single button press you are after.

PLEASE NOTE - I’ve not tested the above set up (i’m just thinking out loud) but either way, it’s a great plugin and might do what you need. :wink:

You can do this with one Scene (HVAC ON) with 3 schedule triggers.
Then at night you can go to the Automation → HVAC On scene → schedules scene
And just enable the correct schedule.

I believe someone has made a multi-state virtual switch. If you can find it you can use the Program Logic Event Generator PLEG plugin to interface with it to start your scene at the appropriate times.

Not all plugins work remotely. If you are limited to using multiple [b]Virtual Switch[/b] plugins for the user interface ... I posted instructions on how to make these [b]Radio Box[/b] like ... So if you turn on one virtual switch it turns off the others. On Vera you can then trigger on [b]Virtual Switches[/b] and or PLEG if you have more sophisticated logic.
