Hi everyone,
I am a new user and I am running a Veralite with 1.7.730. My thermostat is a GE IS-ZW-TSTAT-100 ZWave.
Please help me with the following scene how to.
Between 9AM to 9PM,
Every 1 hour, Turn the heater on for 10 minutes at 70c.
I can do this with 2 scenes. One scene to turn on the thermostat and a second scene to turn off the thermostat.
I am trying to see if there is a better way to do this.
Thank you for your help in advance. I really want to learn the system and help other people who are new to this.
Having 2 scenes is probably best, as having 1 scene with a 10 minute delay is risky (if Vera crashes or has a restart durring that time the off command would never be sent). So sounds like you got it right.
Eventually you might want to look into the Program Logic Event Generator if you need more complex scene capabilities.

First of all, surely you meant 70F and not 70C? I suspect a typo.
If I may ask, why would you configure your heater this way, cycling for 10 minutes each hour?
It seems to me that the whole point of a thermostat is to have it cycle the heater based on the temperature set point. It is more typically, with this thermostat, to simply change the set point on your desired schedule. For instance one scene sets the temperature to 70F at 9AM and another scene sets the temperature at 65F at 9PM.
