Scene help probably pretty simple but I'm still new to all this

I want my hall way light to come on when I unlock my front door. Seemed easy enough. I created a scene that when the door was unlocked and it was 1 hour before sunset the light would come on. Works fine, but…

Now how do I tell it that during the day it should not come on. I’m not sure how I add a stop for the lack of a better word. Or if I need one. I left the house this morning for example. I unlocked the front door and the light came on. Trying to understand why?

I also would like this light to only really stay on for a minute or two at most as I pass through the hall.

I don’t use modes much but I suspect I could limit it that way. But modes will be a pita since the wife will never switch the house to a particular mode and I’m not sure I want to deal with it.

Any ideas. Maybe a IFTTT rule would be an option

you need to use conditional scene logic if you do not mind a little LUA coding. See the scene scripting board for details.

Or you can use the PLEG plugin. There is a board for this as well with documentation, examples, and videos.
