Scene execution stops after Remotec 550 trigger

VERA3, UI5, Remotec URC-Z 550

I have defined scenes to set up CINEMA MODE and NORMAL MODE
Scene CINEMA MODE: Through dimming of lights and opening projector screen, the room is prepared as cinema.
Scene NORMAL: Screen disappears, dimming levels go up until normal lighting levels are restored

Triggering these scenes through the Dashboard or by mobile phone (BB) works well.

I added Remotec event #1 as trigger for the CINEMA MODE scene.
Triggering CINEMA MODE on the Remotec works OK by pushing zwave button 1

I added Remotec event #2 as trigger for NORMAL mode.
Triggering NORMAL mode on the Remotec by pushing zwave button 2 does NOT work satisfactory.
The scene starts however and I see the first light go on, but then the scene stops.
So the lights are halfway the intended level and the screen remains open.

BTW: I know the limitations of the Remotec with mixing up scenes but that does not seem to be the problem here. Other devices are not affected neither.

Has anyone had similar experiences ? Any ideas what may cause this ?

Thanks !

Particularly strange as the scene runs well when activated on the Dashboard on a PC or though the general mobile phone app.
And particularly strange as it works fine for other scenes triggered a Remotec button…

Does anyone know whether a secondary controller as my Remotec only triggers scenes to be executed by VERA ?
This seems logical as the scene has been defined with a trigger event coming form the Remotec.

Or is it such that the remote secondary controller executes scenes itself after all the network settings have been communicated to it ?
Then I would at least know the problem lies with the Remotec.

I think it’s typical that Vera associates itself with the secondary controller, when you first include it. Vera can then receive the button pushes and use them as triggers for scenes. If you then re-include the controller, the (partial) scenes may be transferred to the secondary controller, so they can be run from that controller directly.

Switching Vera off and then operating your secondary controller may give you an indication of ‘who controls what’.

Hm… that was helpful.

Indeed, the Remotec runs the scenes when VERA is turned off.
Showing the problem. Some scenes stop after first (immediate) action. The following delayed actions do not come though.
Strikes me that these are lights being dimmed, maybe the Remotec cannot handle dimming in scenes…will have to check that

But I had this running before. …
So I hope that means that before, I had the scenes executed by VERA, being triggered by the Remotec.

So how to get there again ?
First exclude Remotec from network and remove all information from it.
Then restart:

From the discussions on the Remotec, all indicate that including it is performed by entering the code 8363 on the remote.
This is however specified to “replicate all network and device information” and I know by now it includes scenes.

The first time using this though, the Remotec gets included but no scenes have been made to be triggered by the Remotec.
It has to be there first obviously before it can be included in scenes.

Next scenes can be made, to be triggered by the Remotec buttons.
I include the triggers (button1,2,5,6,) in the scenes.
Yes!! , the buttons do work… to some extent. But button 5 and 6 are swapped and button 1 and 2 do the same as button 5 and 6…They don’t trigger the scenes that I made 1 and 2 a trigger for.
Problems with interference between scenes have been reported before but here entire scenes are swapped.

I could do a new run entering code 8363 as others have suggested but that would replicate the network setting again and this time including the scenes, which I do NOT want.
Let VERA be the executioner of the scenes and the Remotec just the trigger.

What I did though, is put the Remotec in Listen mode by using code 8364 so that the Remotec could be configured.
The configuration was successful but after that I noticed no changes.

I tried using other buttons (7 and 8) for the scenes I miss but these buttons remain unresponsive on the Remotec.
Also after another Configuration run.

So:
It seems the problem is that the Remotec buttons do not trigger scenes as programmed.

I’ll probably stick to the PC, iPad or BB for running scenes.
